The Women's and Gender Studies is pleased to announce the following promotions and awards for its program faculty:

  • Katie Anania, School of Art, Art History and Design, promoted to Associate Professor and granted tenure
  • Anne Duncan, Chair, Department of Classics and Religious Studies, promoted to Professor
  • Gabrielle Owen, Department of English, promoted to Associate Professor and granted tenure
  • Peter Capuano, Department of English, received the Outstanding Research and Creative Award
  • Alice Kang, Department of Political Science, received the Outstanding Research and Creative Award
  • Kathleen Lacey, Department of English, WGS Program Advisor and Campus Associate, received the College Mentoring Award
  • Katrina Jagodinsky, Department of History, received the 2024 Digital Humanities Award for "Petitioning Freedom: Habeas Corpus in the American West"

The program is also announcing two updates for our faculty:

  • Julia Schleck, Department of English, and past WGS Acting Director, has taken a position outside of the University of Nebraska
  • Stephen Buhler, Department of English, is retiring
