LGBTQA+ Center & Women’s Center at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Pat Tetreault was the Founding Director of the LGBTQA+ Center (2007) and Director of the Women’s Center (2019), which merged in 2023 to become the Gender and Sexuality Center.  In addition to obtaining a Ph.D. in Social Psychology, Pat completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Law-Psychology Program at UNL, obtaining a master's in legal studies. Pat worked at Voices of Hope before returning to work at UNL as the Sexuality Education Coordinator (University Health Center) with the program being ranked 8th in the nation in 2007. Pat has been recognized for her work with awards that include ACPA's Voices of Inclusion Award (2022), the James V. Griesen Exemplary Service to Students Award (2022), and ACPA’s Coalition for Sexuality and Gender Identities Research Recognition Award (2018); the LGBT Public Service Award (2016); and the Chancellor’s Awards for Fulfilling the Dream (2013), Outstanding Contributions to the Status of Women (1999, 2005), Outstanding Contributions to the GLBT Community (2002) and the Sue Tidball Award for Creative Humanity (1999). The LGBTQA+ Center received ACPA’s Commitment to Social Justice Education Award (2017) and the Star City Pride Legacy Organization Award in 2022.

Recent publications include Perceptions of Campus Climate (2013); the Nebraska section in Proud Heritage: People, Issues, and Documents of the LGBT Experience (2014, Vol. 3); Chapter 9, Tetreault & Perkins, Religious Freedom Restoration Acts: Balancing Religious Freedom and Equality Under the Law in LGBT Americans at Risk (2018); and Fette & Tetreault, Chapter 10: LGBTQ Students, Sexual Assault and Interpersonal Violence in Advising Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer College Students (2021).
