Keynote Speaker: Dr. Lindsey Churchill, University of Central Oklahoma
“Reproductive Justice in a Red State”
Dr. Churchill is an Associate Professor of History and founder and director of UCO's Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies Program. She also is the director of their Women's Research Center and BGLTQ+ Student Center.
In 2014 she published her book, Becoming the Tupamaros: Solidarity & Transnational Revolutionaries in Uruguay and the United States (Vanderbilt University Press), and in 2016 she became a Fulbright Scholar Specialist in Latvia.
Her work has included over 40 presentations and lectures about gender, sexuality, reproductive justice, sex positivity, and inclusion. In 2016 she received the Oklahoma Human Rights Award from the United Nations Association and Oklahoma University Human Rights Association.
In 2018 she worked with students in UCO's Reproductive Justice Campus Action Network to create the documentary, "Red State Resistance: Reproductive Justice in the Red State of Oklahoma."
No Limits! is an interdisciplinary student conference that explores a wide range of issues related to women, gender, and sexuality. Undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent graduates are invited to submit proposals to present their academic research, creative project, or activist work on women, gender, and/or sexuality.
